چکیده

In this paper we study the blocking time of an unreliable single-server queueing system Geo/GD/1. The service can be interrupted upon explicit or implicit breakdowns. For the successful finish of the service we use a special service discipline dividing the pure service time X (assumed to be a random variable with known distribution) in subintervals with deterministically selected time-points 0 = t0 < t1 < . . . < tk < tk+1; tk < X ≤ tk+1, and making a copy at the end of each subinterval (if no breakdowns occur during it) we derive the probability generating function of the blocking time of the server by a customer. As an application, we consider an unreliable system Geo/D/1 and the results is that the expected blocking time is minimized when the timepoints t0, t1, . . . are equidistant. We determine the optimal number of copies and the length of the corresponding interval between two consecutive copies.

Discrete Time Analysis of Multi-Server Queueing System with Multiple Working Vacations and Reneging of Customers‎

This paper analyzes a discrete-time $Geo/Geo/c$ queueing system with multiple working vacations and reneging in which customers arrive according to a geometric process. As soon as the system gets empty, the servers go to a working vacations all together. The service times during regular busy period, working vacation period and vacation times are assumed to be geometrically distributed. Customer...

Unreliable Server Mx/G/1 Queue with Loss-delay, Balking and Second Optional Service

This investigation deals with MX/G/1 queueing model with setup, bulk- arrival, loss-delay and balking. The provision of second optional service apart from essential service by an unreliable server is taken into consideration. We assume that the delay customers join the queue when server is busy whereas loss customers depart from the system. After receiving the essential service, the customers m...

Analysis of unreliable bulk queue with statedependent arrivals

In this paper, we investigate a single-server Poisson input queueing model, wherein arrivals of units are in bulk. The arrival rate of the units is state dependent, and service time is arbitrary distributed. It is also assumed that the system is subject to breakdown, and the failed server immediately joins the repair facility which takes constant duration to repair the server. By using suppl...

Analysis of an M/G/1 Queue with Multiple Vacations, N-policy, Unreliable Service Station and Repair Facility Failures

This paper studies an M/G/1 repairable queueing system with multiple vacations and N-policy, in which the service station is subject to occasional random breakdowns. When the service station breaks down, it is repaired by a repair facility. Moreover, the repair facility may fail during the repair period of the service station. The failed repair facility resumes repair after completion of its re...

Working Vacation Queue with Second Optional Service and Unreliable Server

An M/M/1 queueing system with second optional service and unreliable server is studied. We consider that the server works at different rate rather than being idle during the vacation period. The customers arrive to the system according to Poisson process with state dependent rates depending upon the server’s status. All customers demand the first essential service whereas only some of them dema...
